Verified climate action

2024, 2023

Relish Ideas is taking proactive efforts to address global CO2 emissions that result from business operations.

Through Offset Climate Certified®, the CO2 emissions resulting from their business activities have been third-party measured, and voluntarily mitigated through verified Greenhouse Gas (GHG) reduction projects.

Since joining Offset Climate Certified®, Relish Ideas has supported the verified reduction of 40 mT of CO2.

To put this in perspective it would take 661 tree seedlings TEN YEARS to draw down this much CO2 (US EPA).

By taking measured and meaningful climate action, Relish Ideas is helping accelerate verified CO2 reductions at scale.

Measured

Year measured: 2024
Total measured CO2 emissions: 14.77 metric tonnes

Offset

Year offset: 2024
Offset amount: 15 metric tonnes CO2 (100% of measured emissions)
Offset retirements:Ascend Performance 5| SPLT 5 | Escuela de Minas 5

Reduction focus

Avoid non-essential air travel / Optimize client designs with minimal energy requirements / Purchase from vendors demonstrating transparent environmental stewardship / Encourage and support lower carbon transportation / Opt into renewable energy

Engagement focus

Customers: share certification details and encourage they explore for themselves
Vendors/Partners: educating about commitment to being Offset Climate Certified® and why it’s a priority

Where Relish Ideas supported independently verified CO2 reductions to mitigate their 2024 business emissions

  • FLORIDA

The Ascend Performance Phlogiston project uses proprietary technology to enhance voluntary control of N2O (nitrous oxide) emissions in Florida.

Why it’s important: N2O is a byproduct of manufacturing things like first responder uniforms and airbags for cars, and has a global warming potential 265X higher than carbon dioxide.

Standard: Climate Action Reserve UN SDGs: 9, 12, 13

  • COLORADO

SPLT is an accredited land trust leveraging carbon finance to acquire and preserve shortgrass prairie ecosystems in Colorado.

Why it’s important: avoids land conversion to agriculture / commercial development and provides refuge for native wildlife including the swift fox, ferruginous hawk, burrowing owl, and mountain plover.

Standard: Climate Action Reserve UN SDGs: 13, 15

  • COLOMBIA

Escuela de Minas is a run-of-river hydroelectric plant lowering the carbon intensity of increasing electricity production in southern Marinilla, Colombia.

Why it’s important: avoids the addition of fossil fuel intensive energy production, and increases the share of renewables as energy demand rises due to economic growth in the region.

    Standard: Verra UN SDGs: 4, 7, 8, 13
